- In 2018, the municipality of Houten provided kitchen buckets to its residents, in which the resident can do the GFT waste. For this, the municipality provides compostable and bioeaf -breakable bags to its inhabitants for free. The bags are ventilating and vaporizing so that the moisture from the kitchen waste (food residues) can easily evaporate. The bag is possible in the GFTcontainer or in a home composting environment (compost barrel, compost bin or on the compost heap). The inhabitants can pick up rolls with bags (max 2 rolls at a time) for free at the town hall, the environment and at the information desks of most supermarkets in Houten. The supplier supplies the boxes with the rolls of bags on the municipal yard of the municipality of Houten at Brug 11, 3991 LN Houten. The municipality then takes care of the distribution of the boxes with bags to the supermarkets and the town hall.
