Description: The area partners Province of Groningen, Municipality of Eemsdelta, Groningen Landscape, Rijkswaterstaat, Hunze and Aa's water board and Groningen Seaports work together on the Coastal Development project. This project falls under the Eems-Dollard 2050 program, aimed at the natural and ecological improvement in the estuary.
The Eemszijlen project has three main objectives: strengthening the (s) of Delfzijl by shifting the current recreation louse next to the sea lock to the center of Delfzijl at the location of the existing spoination. Improving the ecological water and nature quality of the Eems-Dollard estuary, by realizing a robust salt-salt transition area with fish migration and creating a robust fresh-salt connection, so that the coastal zone inflates naturally. The guarantor / increase in Freshwater availability in the longer term.
