- In collaboration with 5 regional monitoring network partners (GGD Amsterdam, DCMR Milieudienst Rijnmond, Regionale Uitvoeringsdienst Zuid-Limburg (RUDZL), Omgevingsdienst Midden- en West-Brabant (OMWB) and Omgevingsdienst Arnhem region), the RIVM monitors air quality in the Netherlands. The RIVM serves as the national reference institute and coordinates the National Air Quality Monitoring Network (Landelijk Meetnet Luchtkwaliteit, LML). Within the LML, there are approximately 50 stationary monitoring stations for continuous data collection, and the network partners operate approximately 40 additional stations located at various types of sites. These monitoring stations provide data as part of the obligations stemming from the European Air Quality Directives (2004/107/EC and 2008/50/EC).
