Description:
The province of North Brabant and the administrative region of Eindhoven want to reduce traffic jams around Eindhoven by transporting more employees to their workplace by bus. These buses mainly run during rush hour. To prevent these buses from getting into traffic jams the province and Rijkswaterstaat want to offer buses in both directions between exit 15 'Nistelrode' and the Ekkersrijt junction the opportunity to drive over the hard shoulder of the A50 in case of traffic jams. To make this possible Rijkswaterstaat should be installed in accordance with its own frameworks, including refuge areas and bus crossings. The refuge areas must be provided with lighting. The current tender provides for these requirements.
