- In 2000, agreements were made via the European Framework Directive Water (WFD) to make our waters ecologically healthy again. This means that they are clean according to the standards and form a suitable habitat for flora and fauna belonging to the river system. Measures have also been proposed for the Maas To improve water quality. KRW 7 is a package of measures that makes a major contribution to the KRW objectives of the Maas. The goal is to make the agreements made in 2000 to make our waters ecologically healthy again and to ensure that they continue to realize healthy. It Project KRW 7 has fifteen measures that need to be realized. The activities concern: the construction of channels; the nature -friendly design of banks; the redesign of streams; execution of floodplains.
