- Description:
- The assignment described in this tender procedure concerns the large-scale renovation of the Rotterdam Central Library, located at Hoogstraat 110 in the center of the municipality of Rotterdam. The building, originally completed in 1983 and with a gross floor area of approx 23,000 m2, is a recognizable and intensively used public building.
In addition, the building will be expanded by approximately 2,000 m2 Gross Floor Area (GFA). The existing concrete shell will be preserved, as will the escalators and the library theater. This intervention prepares the building for the future, with attention to sustainability, comfort, accessibility and a contemporary interpretation of the library function.
The library will be open during the entire implementation period closed to the public. A temporary library facility has been set up on the nearby Librijesteeg.
Various activities are carried out by third parties for which the contractor has the obligation to coordinate within this Assignment.
